Jennifer Aniston and Jim Curtis have been happily dating since the spring, jetting off on vacays, bonding over their love of dogs and joining forces at Jen’s The Morning Show premiere on Sept. 9.
But fundamental differences between the two are starting to surface: Jim, a wellness coach and hypnotherapist, has devoted his livelihood to the spiritual, while Jen is ever-charmed by earthly possessions.

“Jen has earned the right to have a huge house, a big staff, and endless ways to capitalize on her fame,” says the source. “But even the idea of a full-time assistant can be a tough concept for someone as self-reliant as Jim.”
It’s not the first time the actress, worth a reported $300 million has faced such a disconnect. Second husband Justin Theroux also took some time getting used to Jen’s lifestyle, says the insider, adding, “It’s different for Jim because his entire livelihood is simplifying things to focus on what’s important.”

The 49-year-old has seemingly been an inspiration for Jen, 56, who promoted his book, Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide, on Instagram in May. The twice-divorced star also “liked” his post about positive affirmations, and appears drawn to Jim’s work of helping clients “break free from their past,” according to Elle.
But old habits die hard, insists the source. “Jim is an agent of change, and everyone around Jen is keeping an eye out for lifestyle shifts as they become closer.” Still, the actress has her limits when it comes to simplifying: “She’s not giving up her personal chef or trainer just yet!”
