Jennie Garth is setting the record straight about where things stand with her former Beverly Hills, 90210 costar Tiffani Thiessen.
In her new memoir, I Choose Me, the 54-year-old actress confirms the friendship is done. “We’re no longer close,” Garth writes, according to a story published by Page Six on Tuesday, April 14, adding that she and Thiessen, 52, “didn’t have such a happy ending” to their sisterhood.

It’s a far cry from the bond the two women once shared. The Saved By the Bell alum joined 90210 during its fifth season in 1994, playing the fan-favorite villain Valerie Malone. Garth is refreshingly honest about her initial reaction, admitting she “felt threatened and competitive” with Thiessen right away.
But she caught herself, made amends and the two quickly became inseparable. Their off-screen connection grew so tight that Thiessen was a bridesmaid when the What I LIke About You alum married actor Peter Facinelli in 2001.
Garth played matchmaker for the former White Collar actress, introducing her to actor Brady Smith on the set of What I Like About You. She recalls knowing instantly that Smith was “perfect” for her friend, describing him as “tall and handsome and from Texas.” The setup worked — Thiessen and Smith went on to marry in 2005 and start a family.
Thiessen once shared that she even saw Garth “give birth to her first child” before touching on their later friendship issues during a 2012 appearance on Howard Stern’s Serius XM show. “I was the one who was hurt, let’s just say that,” she told the host
So what went wrong? Garth doesn’t spell it out entirely. She writes that the two have crossed paths since their falling out, at both an audition and a dinner party, but that “the connection we once shared wasn’t there.”
Rather than dwelling on blame, Garth takes a philosophical approach. “I’ve come to see that some friendships are meant for a reason or a season, and ours was a meaningful one, while it lasted,” she writes.
