Halle Berry Engaged to Van Hunt After Six Years Together, Producer Put ‘a Little Ring on It’

He put a ring on it! Halle Berry has finally found The One in Van Hunt, her beau of six years and now fiancé. The Oscar winner, 59, confessed last year that Van, 55, had already proposed, and that they would tie the knot eventually. By February, she revealed they’d made things official with a sparkler. “He did put a little ring on it,” Halle joked about the blingy bauble. “Of course I said yes, I would marry him.”

Halle has been married three times — to former baseball player David Justice, and to actors Eric Benétand Olivier Martinez — and has copped to being unlucky in love. “After my third divorce,” she recalled, “people started to say, ‘What’s wrong with her? She’s crazy. She can’t keep a man.’ And I would always argue, ‘Who says I want to keep a man if he’s not the right man?’” But meeting Van in 2020 changed the game, along with her perspective on what a relationship could feel like. In 2021, she gushed about the record producer, “I’ve never had a man in my life that has lifted me up and let me be all that I am.”

Halle, who has two kids from previous relationships (Nahla, 17, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, and Maceo, 12, with Olivier), confessed that she and Van have yet to set a date. But she’s made it clear that the relationship itself is set in stone. “Out of the people I’ve been married to,” she swooned last year, “this is the person I should have married.”
