Guy Fieri Recalls Declaring ‘I’m Gonna Marry That Girl’ After Meeting Wife Lori in 1992
As if describing a rom-com, Guy Fieri revealed the unexpected way he met Lori, his wife of 30 years, back in 1992. He’d recently fired her close friend, who came to his restaurant to retrieve her last paycheck — with Lori in tow.
“Standing [there] is this little blonde girl with these just beautiful blue eyes,” the Food Network star recalled, adding that Lori was noticeably angry Guy had axed her bestie: “She [was] just mean-mugging me, just doing this look.”
Still, the chef was “mesmerized,” despite having a girlfriend at the time. “I said, ‘I’m gonna marry that girl,’” he recounted. “That is one thousand percent… what came out of my mouth. And that was it.”
Three years later, the 57-year-old indeed wed his fired employee’s pal, and he and Lori, 54, went on to welcome kids Hunter, 29, and Ryder, 19.
