Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos Reveals Surprising Connection to NFL Star Stefon Diggs

Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos has revealed a surprising past relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs.

The New England Patriots wide receiver, who lost out to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 8, is thought to be dating Cardi B, although, as Star previously reported, some believe they have ended their romance.

But long before he hooked up with the “WAP” rapper, Diggs, 32, romanced Joan’s daughter Allison Vassos, 31, during his younger years.

“I know Stefon Diggs because my daughter dated him when she was in high school,” Joan, 63 — who also has children Nicholas, 35, Erica, 34, and Luke, 29, with her late husband John Vassos, who died in 2021 at 59 — revealed on a Friday, February 6 episode of Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti’s Almost Famous podcast.

“She was a senior in high school, and he went to a high school that was down the road. So, she dated him.”

Joan, who is engaged to Golden Bachelorette finalist Chock Chapple, 62, talked about her memories of the high school romance, and recalls taking the football player and Allison to dinner at Morton’s The Steakhouse once.

“He came over to my house all the time. I have pictures of him with my family,” she added.

Allison has been married since 2019 and has a 5-year-old son.

Diggs is still a bachelor — and may be looking for love again.

At the Fanatics Super Bowl party, in San Francisco, California, Cardi, 33, was asked by an ESPN reporter to give an “inspiring message” for the Patriots wide receiver before Super Bowl LX.

The Grammy winner gave a quick, nonchalant response, stating “Good luck”, as seen in a TikTok video posted by ESPN.

The pair have now fueled further break-up rumors after they unfollowed one another on Instagram, according to TMZ.
