The new Golden Bachelor star, Mel Owens, 66, who’s officially eligible for Medicare, says he’s not giving a rose to any women his own age.
On the In the Trenches podcast, the former NFL player turned lawyer admitted to host Jon Jansenhe does not want to date women over 60, and in fact, he wouldn’t mind if they were much younger.

“[Producers] asked me, ‘What’s your preferences?’ So I just said, ‘45 to 60, just being honest,’” Owens said.
“Then we had lunch with the executive producer. I said, ‘If they’re 60 or over, I’m cutting them.’ [They said], ‘Oh no, you can’t!’”
And no fake parts either, the California-based charmer added. “I told [producers], ‘Try and stay away from the artificial hips and the wigs,’ that kind of stuff,” he said.
The Golden Bachelorettes also “gotta be fit, because I stay in shape,” he added.
