Nick Cannon reflected on his past missteps and hopes for his children in the future.
Cannon, 44 – who shares 12 children with six different women – told Extra that being a girl dad has specifically changed how he views some of the things he’s done in his dating life.
“When you have five daughters and you’re like, ‘All right, I at least want to be able to be true and honest,’” he began, “but like, I can’t live the same life that I’ve always been living and attempt to right my wrongs in that sense of where like, hopefully, my daughters learn from my mistakes and not date people like their dad.”
The Masked Singer host welcomed his first children, twins Moroccan and Monroe, 14, with then-wife Mariah Carey in 2011. The pair separated in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016.

Cannon went on become a dad to Golden Sagon, Powerful Queen and Rise Messiah with Brittany Bell; Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi; Halo Marie with Alyssa Scott; Zion Mixolydian, Zillion Heir and Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa; and Onyx Ice with LaNisha Cole.
He also shared son Zen with Scott, but he tragically passed away at only 5 months old in December 2021 after being diagnosed with brain cancer.
Cannon’s moment of self-reflection comes after he admitted that he isn’t certain how many women he’s slept with in his life during the Wednesday, July 30, episode of his Nick Cannon @ Night podcast.
“We call it the car facts, you wanna know the history of the vehicle,” he quipped while discussing why he believes it’s necessary to talk about sexual history with partners. “We joke, we have fun… But I think a person’s history is important. I wanna know everything.”
He added, “I don’t need to know the exact number. I lost count a long time ago. But I would like to know a little bit.”

As for if he’ll ever have more kids in the future, Cannon admitted earlier this year that he wasn’t sure yet.
“There was a point in time where I was just like, ‘Nah, I’m done.’ And, then I was like, ‘Who am I to say that?’” he told People in March. “It seemed like it was such an emphatic thing. I never imagined that I would have 12 kids. So, it’s one of those things where I love children. I love my life, and if it could keep going in the direction that it’s going, why not?”
