Demi Moore has been open about her past issues with body image.

Body of Evidence “I do have love for my body, but it’s more about appreciation,” Demi has said. “I can really appreciate all that my body does for me now, not just how it looks.”

“There is a lot of torment I put myself through when I was younger,” she told Elle in November. The 62-year-old said it was so “humiliating” when a producer asked her to lose weight that she developed an eating disorder. “It moved me to a place of such torture and harshness against myself.”

Bad Medicine In The Substance, Demi plays an aging star who takes an experimental drug.

The subject is newly relevant, as the actress is up for her first Oscar for the body-horror movie The Substance. While Demi has been making the rounds talking about the harm of Hollywood beauty standards, insiders tell Star friends are worried the actress is falling back into her dangerous old ways in the run-up to the March 2 ceremony.

“The Oscars have made her more self-conscious about her looks than ever,” says a source. “Word is she’s not eating full meals and calorie counting like crazy because she’s scared of going over size 0.” Indeed, Demi looked rail thin at the Jan. 5 Golden Globes, where she gave a moving acceptance speech about finding “peace and self-love.” Says the source, “Her friends would like to see her remember what she said and stick to it.”
