Dakota Johnson’s New Comedy ‘Splitsville’ Explores the Perks and Pitfalls of Open Marriages
When Ashley (Adria Arjona) demands a divorce from her husband Carey (Kyle Marvin), he seeks refuge with his close friends, Julie (Dakota Johnson) and Paul (Michael Angelo Covino, who cowrote the script with Marvin and also directed)… not realizing they have an open marriage.
But “open” means different things to different people, which becomes hilariously clear when Carey and Julie sleep together, leading to one of the craziest, over-the-top funny fights in movie history. All-around brilliant performances and the laugh-out-loud script make this a must-see.
