No good deed goes unpunished in a horror film, which Polly (Dakota Fanning) quickly discovers when a disoriented old woman (Kathryn Hunter) knocks on her door late at night.
The mysterious stranger hands her a box and tells her to place three things inside: something she needs, something she hates and something she loves — and then tells her she’ll die unless she gives the box “what it wants.” That sets off a frantic race that’s also a journey of self-discovery.
