One of the only things certain in life? No matter who you are, there is no getting around the fact that we all have to pay our taxes, celebrity status or not. With that in mind, here are 5 celebrities that have owed the tax man big time.

Marc Anthony

The singer was slammed with two tax bills for $1.8 million and $1.6 million in a period of three months for unpaid taxes. This was in 2010, but a few years before that, he was hit with a $2.5 million bill for failure to file income taxes. Here’s hoping he can avoid a third strike with the IRS.

Wesley Snipes

Best known for his role in “Blade”, Wesley Snipes made world headlines in 2008 when he was convicted on three counts of not filing his tax returns. While he tried to make amends with 3 checks for $5 million as a down payment on his taxes, it failed, and he was sentenced to three years in prison.

Annie Leibovitz

Leibovitz is a photographer famous for her celebrity photos has had some serious trouble managing her money in the recent past. While she’s a great photographer, she’s not so great at paying her taxes. Between 2004 and 2007, she owed $2.1 million in taxes, as well as a non-payment on a $24 million loan, which she pledged nearly everything she owns as part of her collateral.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino

“The Situation” is famous for his role on the MTV reality TV show the Jersey Shore, which made him a multi-millionaire. However, Sorrentino and his brother were arrested after it was revealed they didn’t report $9 million he made from various public appearances. He recently pled guilty to tax evasion and sentencing will take place in April.

R.Kelly

While R.Kelly hasn’t been up to much lately, he was once one of the biggest stars in R&B. However, he has been battling with the IRS for years in the quiet. In 2012, it was found he owed nearly $5 million in taxes, even after paying over $3 million in 2008 and 2009. He also took another big hit in 2013 when his home was auctioned off for much less than it was worth.
