While many of us might be under the impression that all celebrities have an endless supply of cash on hand, this isn’t always the case. In fact, many struggle with credit card debt, just like the average person. As the experts at Rebound Finance know, dealing with this type of debt, no matter who you are, is never fun, but important nonetheless. With that in mind, here are five stars that forgot to pay their credit card bills.
A few years ago, Kanye West took to Twitter and shocked the world when he announced he was a massive $53 million in debt. This debt stemmed from his exorbitant spending, as well his foray into the fashion industry. While he’s seemingly doing better now, this proves even the biggest stars out there aren’t immune to debt struggles.
Iggy Azalea is one of the best and most successful hip-hop artists in recent years and, as a result, made quite a bit of money. However, her lavish and expensive lifestyle caught up with her in late 2017. American Express was suing the rapper for her near $300,000 in unpaid credit card bills.
The “Queen of R&B” Toni Braxton has sold tens of millions of records and made a ton of cash over her career. However, she has had her fair share of financial troubles. In 2010, Braxton owed nearly $50 million to a variety of sources due to insane spending habits. While she is still making a lot of money, we hope she is able to keep her spending in check going forward.
Tori Spelling is the daughter of the late-billionaire Aaron Spelling, so you would think she was set for life. However, that is not the case. After her show “90210” went off the air, she had stated she was hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt due to her bad shopping habits. In recent years, Spelling was sued by credit card company American Express for $87,594.55 in unpaid bills.
Courtney Love, best known for her presence in the 90s grunge and punk scenes and as the wife of the late Kurt Cobain, was sued by American Express, in 2009, for not paying a $350,000 bill on her gold card. The star claimed she was the victim of identity fraud and even hired a private investigator to investigate the alleged fraudulent charges.
