Britney Spears Sparks Mixed Reactions From Fans as She Claims She ‘Adopted a Baby Girl’

Britney Spears recently announced she added a new member to her family — and fans aren’t sure what to think.

On Sunday, July 13, the pop star, 43, posted a video of herself dancing on Instagram and claimed in the caption that she adopted a baby girl.

“I haven’t worked out in years so I put this little pink one piece on and PLAYED !!! How are you beautiful people this morning ??? I need coffee ☕️ and I want to let you guys know I adopted a beautiful baby girl 😉😉😉 !!! Her name is Lennon London Spears 🤪🤪🤪 !!!” the “Toxic” singer wrote in her caption.

“This is 30 seconds of my random silly workout !! I hate working out but 3 hours of my footage was all stolen !!! It kinda hurt my stomach to see it disappear because well I sweat my ass off and had a white jacket on !!!” she continued. “Lennon today has on adorable dress 👗🤣🤣🤣 !!! It says I’m NEW HERE !!! SO PLEASE STOP TALKING TRASH AMERICA !!! I’ve decided to move to Italy 🇮🇹😉😉😉 !!!”

It’s unclear if the Grammy winner truly adopted a child, but most of her fans assumed she was either referring to a doll or pet, or simply just joking around.

“I’m sure she’s trolling and I’m here for it,” one fan posted on X.

“She’s trolling but I would love that for her,” a second fan noted on the platform.

A third fan theorized on the app, “It’s probably just a dog.”

“She’s obviously taking about a new doll or dog and not an actual human being,” a fourth fan penned on X.

Spears has been a dog mom for many years. In 2021, her then-husband Sam Ashgari posted an Instagram reel revealing he adopted a Doberman named Porsha for her. Then, in February 2022, Spears shared that she welcomed an Australian Shepherd named Sawyer into her family.

As for her actual children, Spears shares sons Sean, 19, and Jayden, 18, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

The “Everytime” hitmaker reconnected with Jayden earlier this year. However, a source told Star earlier this month that the teen is uncomfortable with his mother’s viral Instagram dance videos.

“Jayden loves his mom and does his best to accept her as she is,” the insider remarked. “But at the same time, he finds a lot of her social media posts incredibly embarrassing, especially the ones where she’s dancing.”

“Jayden’s told her straight up that it upsets him and that his friends give him a hard time about it,” the source added. “He wants to have a relationship with Britney, but he’s also setting boundaries and communicating what makes him uncomfortable.”
