Amy Poehler has been joined by major A-list stars such as Michelle Obama, Ariana Grande and Tina Fey on her Good Hang podcast since its March 2025 debut. However, there’s one star Poehler refuses to ask to stop by for a chat.
“Martha [Stewart], I’m not going to invite you on the show because I’m too scared, but please listen and know that you’re something else,” Poehler, 54, said during the Tuesday, December 23, episode with guest and former Saturday Night Live cast mate, Ana Gasteyer.

Both Poehler and Gasteyer, 58 — who admit to being “obsessed” with the 84-year-old businesswoman — portrayed Stewart on the sketch comedy series over the years.
“When we’re doing Martha, what are we doing with her lips? And how do we talk?” Poehler asked her guest.
Gasteyer responded, “[Stewart is] very aware of how the camera is going to look on her.”
“It’s a barely moving mouth,” Poehler added. “We’re going to make a Christmas meal, and barely nothing’s going to move.”

Stewart — who hosted Martha Stewart Living in the late 1990s before The Martha Stewart Show premiered in 2005 — opened up about being impersonated during a January appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The hospitality queen admitted that DavidSpade was her “favorite” impersonator, adding, “I love it. Imitation is the highest form of flattery. You might as well be imitated.”
“He was wearing my poncho,” she told Fallon of the Just Shoot Me! star’s 2005 sketch, referring to the garment Stewart crocheted while serving time in federal person, per NBC. “The real poncho.”
