Aaron Rodgers is spilling the tea on what looked like a tense moment on the field, but it was really all in good fun.
In a clip shared by the NFL on Wednesday, October 22, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback opened up about his teammate Broderick Jones tackling him to the ground after a 68-yard touchdown pass during their October 16 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
While the tackle might have caught some fans off guard, Rodgers confirmed it wasn’t anything serious.
“What you don’t see in the video is right after the throw, he’s coming over to me and shaking me and shaking me. And like, I text him, I say, ‘hey, man, I love your energy. I love everything you’re about. But also, I’m 41, okay? You can’t be out there tackling me like that,’” Rodgers, 41, said with a laugh in the clip. “But I love Brod. We had a couple laughs about it. I told him, I’m getting him next. He better watch his back.”

Rodgers’ playful warning comes after he made headlines for looking irritated during the celebratory moment, showing that even seasoned quarterbacks have their limits.
But Jones may have more unexpected moments up his sleeve. When reporters asked if he planned to tackle Rodgers again, the 24-year-old athlete laughed and said, “We shall see on Sunday after he throws another touchdown. I’m gonna tackle him again,” per another clip shared by the NFL.
“Yeah we’re still joking about it,” Jones added. “Yeah he was a little mad, but sorry, you know, it’s football, it gets intense.”
Rodgers and Jones will be back in action on Sunday, October 26, when the Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers’ former team.
