'SNL' Staff 'Worried' Sick About Pete Davidson After His Suicidal Instagram Post

Jimmy Fallon 'concerned' as comedian says he doesn't want to be 'on this earth.'

Days after Pete Davidson shocked fans with a chilling Instagram post about depression and suicide, sources are telling Rob Shuter that his Saturday Night Live family is sick with worry!

On his new podcast, “Straight Shuter: Naughty But Nice,” the columnist talks about Davidson’s recent mental health issues, adding that they’ve gotten so bad they have actually started to affect his career.

Last week, when Matt Damon was working as the SNL host, troubled Davidson, 25, failed to show up to rehearsals.

“His job was somewhat in jeopardy,” a source close to the comedian told Shuter. “You can’t just not show up for work.”

Though Davidson was not fired from his gig, the cast and staff “were worried about him.”

StarMagazine.com readers know that while Davidson has long struggled with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues, things took a turn for the worse when he got dumped by Ariana Grande this October.

This December 3, he shared an Instagram statement saying he was being constantly put down by internet haters who wanted him to kill himself. And days later, on December 15, he shared a scary post saying he did not “want to be on this earth anymore” and didn’t know how long he would last.

The horrifying remark prompted Grande — who recently lost her ex Mac Miller to a drug overdose — to reach out to him on social media and showe up at SNL set to check up on him, though she was cruelly rejected.

“People at SNL are terrified,” says Shuter, adding that they are doing everything they can to get Davidson out of his dark headspace.

But the comedian’s SNL crew and ex-girlfriend are not the only people who are worried about his current state. Shuter says the funnyman’s longtime pal, Jimmy Fallon “is really concerned and has reached out.”

And though Davidson has tried to make light of the situation, his close pals are not too sure he’s joking about this one.
