Demi Lovato has been hospitalized for an alleged heroin overdose. The singer, 25, recently admitted she had relapsed after six years of sobriety with a new song, “Sober.”
Sources say Demi was transported from her house in the Hollywood Hills to the hospital on Tuesday July 24 just before noon. Her condition is not known at this time.
Demi has been open about her substance abuse issues in the past. On her new song, “Sober,” she sang, “Momma, I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore / And daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor / To the ones who never left me, we’ve been down this road before / I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore.”
Demi was spotted partying with a mystery man on July 14. On Sunday July 22, she performed at the California Mid-State Fair. Last week, when she dyed her hair blonde, some saw it as a sign of the huge upheaval she was going through.
Since announcing her relapse, she fired her longtime manager. Radaronline.com reported that she had dropped her family, friends, and sober community connections amid her spiral. She also became estranged from her former life couch, who had helped her with recovery.
The story is still developing.
