Mark Salling is dead from an apparent suicide, according to LAPD. He was 35 years old.
The former Glee star was awaiting sentencing after pleading to guilty to possession of child pornography involving pre-pubescent minors and was out on bond until his hearing which was scheduled to take place on March 7, 2018 in front of the same judge.
Shortly following the actor’s plea agreement in October, Mark allegedly attempted suicide by cutting his wrist and was said to have “freaked out” after hurting himself and called for his roommate for help after attempting to end his life.
At the time Mark’s representative denied that the actor harmed himself saying: “Mark is physically fine and Mark is spending his time atoning and working on himself.”
Mark was first arrested back in December 2015 and prosecutors alleged that he had over 50,000 images of underage children on his laptop.
According to U.S. District Court documents, Mark faced up to 20 years in prison and lifetime of probabtion. However, as part of the plea deal, he was expected to serve four to seven years.
