Rapper Nelly was arrested and charged with second degree rape in Auburn, Washington early Saturday morning KCPQ and TMZ reported. Hours earlier the 42-year-old performed at the White River Ampitheatre with Florida Georgia Line. At about 3:45 AM a woman called police claiming that she had been raped on Nelly’s tour bus which was allegedly parked behind a Walmart near the concert venue.

The rapper’s attorney Scott Rosenblum denies all accusations. In a statement to Page Six Saturday morning Mr. Rosenblum said, “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes, this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”

At 6:39 AM the Hot in Herre singer was booked into South Correctional Entity jail in Des Moines, Washington. Less than three hours later his name was removed from the inmate list. The charge of second-degree rape could indicate that force was used or that the woman, who allegedly met Nelly at his Friday night show, was either unable to consent as a result of either being physically or mentally incapacitated, or developmentally disabled.

Nelly, who’s given name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., is scheduled to perform Saturday night in Ridgeland, Washington.
