Kendall Jenner hid her face from photographers as she left the Miu Miu showroom in Paris on Saturday. The brunette model and KUWTK star and her little sister Kylie Jenner have every reason to be ashamed of themselves. On Wednesday the reality stars released a t-shirt collection they called Rap vs. Rock that featured their faces superimposed over classic images of Biggie, Jim Morrison of the band The Doors, Ozzie Osbourne, the band Pink Floyd, and Tupac. It seems the sisters forgot to ask permission to feature the music icons and band logos. Rumors are swirling that the reality stars could be facing a lawsuit.

The shirts, which had been listed for $125 each on the Kendall + Kylie website, had sold out before the wave of backlash broke. TMZ.com reported lawyers representing The Doors threatened a lawsuit and sent a cease and disist letter on Thursday, the same day that the t-shirts were removed. The sisters posted identical statements apologizing for the fashion faux pas stating, “These designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologize to anyone that has been upset and/or offended, especially to the families of the artists. We are huge fans of their music and it was not our intention to disrespect these cultural icons in anyway. The tee shirts have been pulled from retail and all images have been removed. We will use this as an opportunity to learn from these mistakes and again, we are very sorry.”

Additional outcry regarding the reality stars’ unauthorized use of the images included an Instagram post by Voletta Wallace, Biggie’s mother, who said, “I am not sure who told [Kylie] and [Kendall Jenner] that they had the right to do this. The disrespect of these girls to not even reach out to me or anyone connected to the estate baffles me. I have no idea why they feel they can exploit the deaths of Tupac and my son Christopher to sell a T-shirt.”

Sharon Osbourne also took the Jenner sisters to task via social media tweeting, “Girls, you haven’t earned the right to put your face with musical icons. Stick to what you know…lip gloss.”
