The paparazzi had to fill up their gas tanks in a hurry when they heard that an unprecedented number of celebrities were spotted 90-miles south of Hollywood.

Something new and different has been going on at NASCAR races this season and Hollywood’s finest came to see what all the fuss is about.

Jada Pinkett Smith, Taylor LautnerJustin Hartley and Chrissy Metz from This Is UsNick Lachey and Vanessa MinnilloWilmer Valderrama, Tommy LeeVanderpump Rules stars Tom SandovalAriana MadixJax Taylor and Brittany CartwrightKaitlin Olson, and Terry Crews were just some of the celebrities that showed up during NASCAR’s annual visit to southern California. 

While Hollywood’s relationship with NASCAR has gone on for decades, (Tom Cruise in Days of Thunder) the two sides have been caught canoodling more than ever as of late.   At this point, it is safe to say, this is more than just a fling.

The new era of NASCAR – boasting a crop of young and edgy drivers that have been thrilling fans at 200 MPH — has attracted more than 200 celebrities to races in the last year. Channing TatumKeanu ReevesCuba Gooding Jr., Waka FlockaWyclef JeanOwen WilsonChris PrattAdam SandlerVince VaughnJordin Sparks and Arnold Schwarzenegger, to name a few.

You know the saying, that athletes want to be actors and actors want to be athletes? There must be something to that because NASCAR’s LA office has been closing deals left and right in Tinseltown.

NASCAR.com reported, six drivers in the newly minted Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (Kyle BuschCarl EdwardsBrad KeselowskiJoey LoganoRyan Blaney and Kyle Larson) have landed roles in the Steven Soderbergh heist film Logan Lucky, starring X=Channing Tatum, Daniel CraigHilary SwankKatie Holmes and Seth McFarlane. The film is set for release on August 18. 

Four of NASCAR’s young studs — Chase ElliottBlaneyDaniel Suarez and Bubba Wallace — are voicing characters in Disney’s Cars 3, set for release on July 16.

It has been reported that Keanu Reeves has been tapped to play a down and out NASCAR driver looking to reinvigorate his career in China in the upcoming Lionsgate movie, Rally Car.
