The 88th Academy Awards nominations were announced on Jan. 14 in Los Angeles.

A-listers like Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence are being honored with nominations for leading roles. Films like The Big Short and The Martian are battling for Best Motion Picture of The Year, too.
