Bikini season is here, and that means we get to flaunt that strong, sexy stomach. Summer also means BBQs and sunset cocktails (not exactly swimsuit-friendly), but there’s no need to eliminate all the fun elements that make up this special season. Just counterbalance them with a few simple substitutions and additions. These food swaps, fitness moves and beauty tips will leave you feeling fit and fabulous. Not to mention, you will still get to indulge—without the bulge!
Move of the Week: Plank with Leg Raise
Come into a straight-arm plank with wrists under shoulders and feet hip-width apart. Draw belly button up and in, and engage the legs: Lift right leg up to hip height, keeping hips level and core strong. Lower the leg and switch sides. Keep the torso still throughout the entire exercise. Perform 10 reps on each side.
Beauty Tip of the Week: Gorgeous Glow
The sun can give us a beautiful bronze glow, but it can also cause the skin to dry. The best way to get your vitamin D fix (which has major benefits to your health) while keeping your skin luscious is with an ultrahydrating sunscreen. Look for a cocoa butter sunscreen, which will deeply moisturize the skin while providing broad spectrum protection. Your skin will glow all season long!
