The young developer, Alaxic Smith, was reportedly able to get the first and last names and email addresses of over 600,000 subscribers to the wildly popular app. However, he didn’t release the list of followers who paid for the service.
Kim, Khloe and Kourtney fans aren’t safe either. The hacker also claimed in a post that has since been taken down that he could see the same records on all other sisters’ websites. Along with accessing personal info, he claimed to have the ability to alter fan photos and videos.
Whalerock Industries, who runs the Kardashian-Jenner websites, released a statement saying, “Shortly after launch, we were alerted that there was an open API (the building blocks that make up the website). It was promptly closed. Our logs indicate that the author of the blog post was able to access only a limited set of names and email addresses.”
While the problem has been fixed, Kylie fans are probably going to think twice before logging on to get her next tip for growing your cleavage two cup sizes.
