The couple reportedly got into an argument that quickly became very physical. A source told TMZ that Reed called 911 from their New Jersey home accusing the singer of allegedly throwing her on the ground and kicking her in the groin.

A representative for the singer addressed the dispute in a statement to E! saying “He did not throw her to the ground or kick her in the groin during this incident. He consequently left their home to protect himself and to diffuse the situation. Some time later, the local police came and arrested him for domestic abuse. He paid a small bail and was released.”

Though, Maroulis didn’t walk away unscathed. He apparently sustained injuries to his right thigh.

The rep also adds: “Mr. Maroulis intends to defend himself vigorously, as well as protect his child, both in the court of law and, as necessary, in the court of public opinion and is confident that he will be completely vindicated when the truth is known.”

The pair dated for six years and have a daughter Malena (4) together. The singer was rumored to be leaving Reed, and that is what allegedly caused the brawl between the two.
