In the highly anticipated series, I Am Cait, an intimate look at the personal life and mission of newly transitioned Caitlyn Jenner is explored—from the inside view we’ve all been patiently waiting to see.
The July 26 series premiere opened with Caitlyn awake and unable to sleep at 4:32 in the morning. After catching a glimpse of herself in the monitor and casually remarking “I look like crap”, she talked about her mission, pondering how she will go about being a voice for the transgender people, overwhelmed by all the work that needs to be done, and the responsibility she now has towards the trans community to “get it right.”

The next day, as Caitlyn sat in curlers, surrounded by her glam squad, they all watched the reactions to the Vanity Fair cover and history making transition on TV, and she exclaimed that she’s “more excited” about life right now than she has ever been before—still she does get very nervous as her team prepares her for her very first meeting with her mom and two sisters.

When they arrive, they are pleased and happy, commenting on how beautiful Caitlyn is, although her mom does become emotional since it’s all been a little hard for her to accept; so she’s relieved to talk things over with Susan, a woman who works with family members of newly transitioned people, to help them begin to accept and deal the change.
During the visit, the 65-year-old former Olympian played tennis with his sister Pam, who did a much better job on the court than she was able to in her new body, and after some unwelcome jiggling, even joked that she now “know(s) why girls need a sports bra,” adding “Bruce is a lot better player than Caitlyn is.”

Next, 17-year-old daughter Kylie Jenner stopped by to meet Caitlyn for the first time, and marveled at how “pretty” she was. The youngest Jenner brought over a gift of long teal blue extensions from her Kylie Hair Couture line, which Cait happily modeled and flipped, after her stylist put them in.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West show up as well, and after supportive expressions of acceptance from Kanye, Caitlyn took Kim into her closet, where they discovered a Tom Ford dress that Kim excitedly realized her mom—Caitlyn’s ex wife Kris Jenner—also has. The discovery led to a light-hearted scheme, jokingly devised to have the two see each other in the same dress.
The episode wrapped with Cait visiting the family of 14-year-old transgender suicide victim Kyler Prescott, to show support, be a friend, and later attend a moving balloon releasing ceremony in his honor.
