Although Kourtney Kardashian was quick to hire a lawyer after her break-up with Scott Disick, it has become apparent that she has no plans on rushing the legal proceedings against him.

Kardashian’s attorney has yet to start writing the papers for the lawsuit, but RadarOnline.com reported that “her attorney is ready, though, and it is just a matter of time.”

As previously reported, Kourtney ended her relationship with Disick, 32, due to his refusal to seek help with his alcohol addiction as well as his alleged lack of fidelity towards her. It may seem strange that Kourtney is stalling the legal process, but “Kourtney knows that Scott is so far gone right now that she doesn’t want to provoke him to do anything stupid,” an insider reports.

Interestingly, it looks like the issues that caused their separation could be exactly the proof Kourtney needs to become the sole guardian of their three children: Mason, 5, Penelope, 3 and six-month-old Reign.

L.A. attorney, Bret. D. Lewis, stated, “Given the facts are true that Scott is an alcoholic and drug user, Kourtney will most likely get full custody of their children because the judge will decide that it is in their best interests to be with her,” according to Radar.

Lewis, who is not representing either of the “Keeping Up With Kardashians” reality stars, shares, “Whether you are married or not, there is legal obligation to pay child support. Based on my experience, I suspect that Kourtney will not seek child support. To do so would be a bad political move on her part and she definitely does not need Scott’s money.”
