The ’80s star Amanda Peterson in Can’t Buy Me Love didn’t have much of a rise to fame, but instead had a steep fall from grace. On Sunday, July 5, the troubled starlet was found dead at home in Greeley, Colorado, at age 43 (the cause of death is still pending).
In my memory, she will always be vibrant and young. Gone too soon. Sending my thoughts and prayers to Amanda’s family.

Star has learned that actress Amanda Peterson‘s past since 2000 was definitely a recipe for trouble—at least six arrests in multiple Colorado counties—and charges that included a DUI, trespassing, possession of controlled substance, narcotic equipment plus narcotics, and assault. One arrest in 2005 kept her locked behind bars from September to December.

Amanda’s mother, Sylvia Peterson, shared with Entertainment Tonight about her daughter’s troubled past with drugs, but says her daughter was clean for quite some time. “This was not, in any way, a drug thing,” Sylvia stated during the interview. In fact, her mother is led to believe her death could be related to Amanda’s sleep apnea issues.
