Is this the end of the line for the Friends star?

According to an OK! insider, Jennifer Aniston is starting to really worry about her future on screen. She was passed for a Golden Globe nomination for her role in Cake, which would have been her first nontelevision nomination. Now, Jen is trying to rid her romantic-comedy branded name and opt for more serious drama roles.

“She’s desperate to land the lead in another drama,” reveals the insider. “She wants to be on that podium next awards season, but with no offers coming in, she’s starting to fear it may not happen.”

But it’s not like she’s running out of money, which brings to question—why doesn’t she just do her own movie and make herself the star role with the $150 million she has laying around?

“She knows that there are edgy roles out there, and she’d be willing to fund an indie film in order to get one,” the source spills about Jen even serving as an executive producer on Cake.

“But at the same time, Jen would much rather be approach to star in someone else’s project. She doesn’t want anyone thinking that she’s buying her success.”
