Kanye West Earns Doctorate Degree--Watch What Happens When Photographer Calls Him "Dr. West"

INF Kanye West Performs 'All Day' During Timeout at Bulls Cavaliers Game

College dropout? Not anymore!

Kanye West was awarded with his highest accolade to date – an honorary doctorate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicage (SAIC), for his “transformative, genre-defying work” on May 11. And this honor is not just for Yeezus – apparently, all of us mere mortals will benefit as well, somehow. During his acceptance speech, Kanye looked out over the audience and into the cameras, proudly proclaiming that, “This honor is gonna make your lives easier.” Great news…?
The 37-year-old rapper was all smiles and jitters during his speech: “I felt my nerves a bit and I don’t feel that feeling a lot. The nerves of humility and modesty when being honored, a humanization, a reality, of being recognized, and all I thought as I sit here kinda shaking a little bit, is, I need to get rid of that feeling! I need to not be nervous.”

Listen to Kanye’s graduation speech here.

The only thing missing on one of the biggest days of the “All Day” singer’s life, was his Mrs. – Kim Kardashian. According to her Instagram page, the Armenian beauty was in Brazil for a “quick 24-hour trip.” Wait, what? During the exact same 24 hours that Kanye was receiving the greatest honor he didn’t sweat and study like all the other students to earn? Although she was out of the country for her Kim Kardashian West for C&A press conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil – one has to wonder where the scheduling went wrong here. The curvy Kardashian was there in spirit though, posting a pic of her hubby in all his cap and gown glory, “Dr. Kanye West!!!!!!! I’m so proud of you baby & I know your mom would be so proud too!!!!” she posted Monday afternoon.

UPDATE: Check out this video of Kanye West’s huge smile when a photographer refers to him as “Dr. West.”
