Lindsey Vonn announced that she and pro-golfer Tiger Woods have split after 3 years together. The Olympic skier made the announcement on her Facebook page on Sunday, claiming their hectic lives forced them to spend too much time apart.
“After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we’ve created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart. I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Later, Tiger confirmed the break up in a statement on his own website. “Lindsey and I have mutually decided to stop dating.” The respect between them appears to be reciprocal, as he echoed her sentiments, almost verbatim. “I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I’ll always cherish our time together. She has been amazing with Sam and Charlie and my entire family. Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It’s difficult to spend time together.”
Wood’s statement is posted on his official website, directly below a picture of he and Lindsey together, sharing a laugh last month during the par-3 contest at the Masters.
