Celebrities flooded Broadway’s red carpet on April 15, where stars like Bryan Cranston had quite a mouthful of promises and hopes about the premiere.

It’s one of those stories that you remember from your childhood, Cranston says. “It’ll transport [the audience] back to a time when things were innocent and things were fun,” Cranston adds. Cranston says he remembers the workshop of this play nearly a year ago. He instantly fell in love with it and called producer Harvey Weinstein to find out how he could get involved. “Please let me invest in this,” Cranston recalls asking Weinstein.

But the onstage world has been a bit different than his behind-the-camera past. “I’m surprised how nervous I am,” he says, referring to how you can feel safe and in control behind a camera. But on stage, it’s easy to feel nervous since Cranston says he’s not able to control situations. “And I’m out of control here,” he says.
