When Dr. Phil flew to Atlanta to interview Nick Gordon about what exactly happened on the day Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious…he got a lot more than he bargained for. Upon arrival, the talk show host found out from the 25-year-old’s lawyers that “he is so high, so out of control, abusing alcohol and apparently Xanax.”

“They’re concerned for his very life, his very well being,” Dr. Phil told Access Hollywood. “So much so that the ability to sit down and do an interview with him…his ability to sit down and give an interview is just not an option.”

From there, the psychologist gave an intervention instead, and now, Nick is getting help in rehab. The doctor could not comment on whether or not Bobbi’s longtime love, who reportedly administered CPR on the 21-year-old when she was discovered unresponsive in her bathtub in January, is suicidal. “He’s talked about not wanting to go on because of his pain,” Dr. Phil admitted. “He says that he pain he has suffered from the death of Whitney [Houston], the situation that Bobbi Kristina finds herself in, the guilt he says he feels over letting them down because it’s his job — he felt — to protect them. And it was certainly, he said, his job to protect Krissy.”

For weeks, Bobby Brown has been trying to get Nick’s account of what happened the night in question, and Dr. Phil says he still hasn’t been able to give a clear description. “He is not capable of giving an interview,” he reiterated. “He’s out of control.”

Meanwhile, Bobbi continues to remain on life support, with family members by her side.
