Lindsay Lohan is still working hard to put her bad-girl image in the past — she’s ready to take action! The actress and her mother are suing Fox News, Sean Hannity and TV personality Michelle Fields over their accusations that the duo did cocaine together.
The claims were made during a Feb. 4, 2014 broadcast. “During the show’s broadcast, Ms. Field inappropriately and shockingly stated, unequivocally and as a matter of fact, that ‘Lindsay Lohan’s mom is doing cocaine with her’ — which statement is false,” the Mean Girls star’s lawyer said in a statement.
Fox News apologized for the statement last year, calling it an “oversight” and admitting they could not verify Michelle’s claim. “We will defend this case to the fullest,” a rep for the network said Monday. “The remark about which Lindsay and Dina Lohan complain was made on live television by a guest nearly a year ago. We removed the segment from our archives altogether last February and also apologized on-air. At that time, the Lohans did not make any demands for money, and we are surprised they are doing so now.”
Lindsay and Dina are seeking compensatory and punitive damages for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
