No nomination, no problem! Jennifer Aniston was left off the list of Best Actress nominees for the 2015 Academy Awards…but she’s not taking the news too hard.
“I’m the number one snubbed!” she joked on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “That’s the silver lining, right?!”
More important than an award nomination, the Cake star says, is the attention that awards season has brought to the film, in which Jen plays a drug addict who suffers from chronic pain. “It hasn’t even come out, that’s the crazy thing!” she gushed. “We were so shocked and amazed that we had this much love for a movie that hasn’t even been released yet.”
The 45-year-old also revealed that since the movie’s previews came out, she’s spoken to several chronic pain sufferers in the same situation as her character. “It’s unbelievable how much positivity it’s bringing to those people who are kind of silently suffering,” she admitted. “It’s a beautiful, hopeful movie.”
