She’s been trying for years, and after 16 months of agonizing in vitro fertilization treatments, LeAnn Rimes has wonderful news — her close friends believe she’s pregnant!
But as thrilled as the country singer is about her burgeoning bundle of joy, her husband, Eddie Cibrian, doesn’t seem to share the enthusiasm. “Eddie never shared LeAnn’s baby fever,” a source explains. “He already has two sons and has never shown much interest in having any more children.”
With LeAnn consumed with all things baby and Eddie seeming to spend less and less time at home, friends are worried about the couple’s marriage — and LeAnn’s mental state. “LeAnn is devastated that Eddie doesn’t want a baby as much as she does,” the insider says. “And she’s sick of him undermining her whenever she talks about having kids.” On top of that, Eddie “can’t stand” his wife’s mood swings from the hormones taken for IVF treatments.
Plus, LeAnn’s nagging fears about Eddie’s fidelity are keeping her from fully embracing her baby joy. “She would never admit it, but she has really strong worries about hanging on to Eddie,” the source reveals. “After all, he cheated on Brandi multiple times, and he was married to her when they first got together! She is very afraid of what might happen if her influence on him lessens in any way.”
Despite her fears, however, LeAnn is staying positive for the sake of her new family, and she’s convinced she can make Eddie as excited about having a baby as she is. “LeAnn has waited too long and worked too hard to give up at this point,” the source concludes. “She’s not giving up on her marriage or her expanding family. One way or another, she will see to it that 2015 is the year she finally gets everything she ever wanted.”
