NeNe Leakes has been able to avoid most of the drama on this season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, mostly focusing on her personal career, and even somewhat settling things with Kenya Moore. But that certainly wasn’t the case on Sunday’s episode!
Let’s start with Cynthia Bailey though, who we see visiting a potential location for a lounge and bar with her husband, Peter Thomas. Cynthia is now a full-fledged partner in Peter’s business, and although their new location requires a lot of work, she’s simply happy to be involved in the decision making process.
Meanwhile, NeNe gets a call from her manager — she’s been offered roles in Broadway shoes Chicago, Rock of Ages and Cinderella! Although now we know she takes the role of Cinderella’s wicked stepmother, at the time, it’s something the actress isn’t too thrilled about because, as she puts it, playing an evil stepmother is a “huge stretch.”
Phaedra Parks continues to prepare for her husband, Apollo Nida’s, eight-year prison sentence by hiring construction workers to build a security gate around her property. Of course, things end in a fight for the bickering pair, when Apollo gives his unsolicited opinion about the work his wife is having done, and claims she gives him no respect.
The episode’s climax, though, occurs at Kandi Burruss’ girls’ only night. Although it seemed NeNe had made up with Kenya in last week’s episode, she denies her a hug upon arriving, and later gives Claudia Jordan the cold shoulder. Plus, while playing a game meant to help heal old wounds, NeNe refuses to be tied together with Cynthia. Naturally, the other ladies are upset about NeNe killin’ their vibe!
During the evening, Demetria McKinney also brags about her relationship with boyfriend Roger Bobb, but is later reduced to tears and winds up leaving the party when one of Kandis’ friends informs her that she, too, dated Roger during the time Demeteria claims they were together.
Up next week? Phaedra and Demetria bump heads during a trip to Puerto Rico!
