'Biggest Loser's' Rachel Frederickson Reflects on Weight Loss Controversy

She went on The Biggest Loser to lose weight, and that’s exactly what Rachel Frederickson did. But, some pointed out, the show’s Season 15 winner may have shed too many pounds by the time of the show’s finale.

The 24-year-old stunned show trainers and viewers alike when she debuted her 155-pound weight loss at the beginning of the year, and months later, reflects on the criticism and reaction she received.

“When I stood on stage at the live finale, I had never felt stronger,” she writes in a blog for Today. “I had accomplished everything I wanted to do. I was extremely proud of myself. That moment didn’t last long. Comments during the controversial storm following my weight loss were hurtful. My self-esteem once again was affected by other people’s voices — this time, the kind that live forever in Facebook posts or written in the pages of magazines. People tried to bring me down and (privately) succeeded. To the voices of those who tried to lift me up after the finale, I thank you!”

But still, Rachel views the experience overall as a positive one, and credits 2014 as a year of “learning, changing and growing.” Plus, following her initial transformation, she’s more recently been flaunting a healthier-looking, but still fit, figure.
