Jennifer Lawrence Reveals the 'Mockingjay' Scene She Refuses to Watch!

The Hunger Games put Jennifer Lawrence on the map in 2012, but there’s one scene from the latest installment of the franchise that’s making her cringe! The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 hits theaters next week, and although she’s doing non-stop press for the film, there’s still one part the 24-year-old refuses to watch.

News broke this week that the actress herself sings in the film, which, unfortunately, is not one of her many talents. The song her character, Katniss, sings is called “The Hanging Tree,” (“which is where I felt like going that morning I showed up [to set],” Jen jokes), and is what her father used to sing to her before he died.

“I do not like singing in front of other people,” Jennifer tells David Letterman. “It’s, like, my biggest fear. I cried. That was awful.”

So, when it came time to see the final product, the Serena star did whatever it took to avoid hearing herself. “I put my fingers in my ear, I still haven’t heard it,” she admits. “But everybody has told me that it’s me. I was like, ‘Will you guys get Lorde to really sing it and [I’ll] lip sync?”, and they said ‘No, it’s really [Katnissl] voice.’ So I avoided that scene.”

During her appearance on The Late Show, though, Dave did get her to sing a few notes, in which Jennifer describes as her “tone deaf, Amy Winehouse voice.” Check it out above!
