She’s remained out of trouble since her 2013 arrest for disorderly conduct, and more than a year later, Reese Witherspoon is reflecting on the very public incident.
“I think it was a moment where people realized I wasn’t exactly what they thought I was,” she admitted. “I guess we all like to define people by the way the media presents them, and I think that I showed I have a complexity that people didn’t know about. It’s part of human nature. I made a mistake. We all make mistakes. The best you can do is say sorry and learn from it and move on.”
Reese’s arrest occurred when her husband, Jim Toth, was pulled under the suspicion of drunk driving. The Oscar winner got very vocal during the cop’s questioning, which led to the disorderly conduct charge.
