The trouble continues for Amanda Bynes! On Wednesday, the actress was caught attempting to shoplift twice at high-end stores in New York City.
According to TMZ, Amanda first hit up Pookie & Sebastian, where employees say they followed her around due to her suspicious behavior (she was allegedly dancing and mumbling about plastic surgery). She tried leaving the store with a shirt stuffed under her arm, and even asked an employee, “Do I really have to buy this?” when she was stopped.
Eventually, she did take out her credit card and purchase the shirt, but just an hour later, she made a similar attempt at Barney’s. There, the troubled star put on a $200 hat and walked out the door. Security stopped her, and the site reports that she told guards she had no intention of stealing anything, but put the hat on to avoid fans who were chasing her in the store.
This strange behavior comes more than a week after her arrest for DUI in California. She returned to New York City last Friday.
