The 24-year-old struggling actor got on a flight from Orange County, Calif. to his home state of Texas, where he’ll stay with his parents, Debbie and Tony. But the news is troubling for Sarah, who was granted a temporary restraining order from her ex in August.
“She’s terrified,” a source tells Star. “Matt was far from stable before rehab and she’s worried that if he’s out, there’s a good chance he’ll try contacting her.”
The actress filed court documents against her ex several weeks ago, in which she recounts instances of physical and verbal abuse. “I was scared and in fear for my life,” she says of one incident.
Things didn’t get better after she ended things, either. “He relentlessly bombarded me with vile, threatening and emotionally disturbing texts and voicemails including his own suicide threats,” the 23-year-old says of her ex’s obsessive behavior.
Matt entered rehab in August for excessive use of alcohol and marijuana. “Now that he’s out of rehab, Sarah is absolutely beside herself,” the source reveals. “She’s completely shaken up and is keeping her phone by her side at every moment, fully ready to call for help if need be.”
