Fans were shocked earlier this month, when Ashley Tisdale announced she’d gotten secretly married to her fiance, Christopher French. Even more surprising, though, was that the former High School Musical star chose to hold her nuptials on a Monday (Sept. 8).
There was a method to the madness, though, which the 29-year-old revealed during an interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest. “It definitely was for two reasons,” she admitted. “The 8th was our anniversary, so I wanted it to land on an 8th, and thankfully it landed on a Monday in September. But also I figured it was a good idea, because I figured out, like, ‘Oh I don’t think anyone would figure this one out,’ and that was to protect the privacy of it.”
And the plan worked in her favor — the public had no idea she’d tied the knot until she shared her wedding photo on Instagram one day later. “It was very awesome,” she said, of keeping the ceremony a secret.
Ashley and Chris met in December 2012 and got engaged just eight months later.
