The new stars of True Detective have some big shoes to fill, as Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson got Season 1 off to a talked-about start. After months of speculation, HBO announced on Tuesday that Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn will be the guys to try and keep the buzz going!
Both actors were rumored to be starring in the miniseries, which will consist, once again, of eight episodes. Colin will portray a “compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him,” while Vince will play “a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.”
HBO also revealed a brief summary of what will take place this season: “Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.”
It’s been reported that the show will also have a female lead, with Elisabeth Moss and Rachel McAdams rumored for the role.
