Now that Chris Brown is out of jail, he’s focusing on the music! The singer is currently promoting his new album X, and sat down with Extra’s Mario Lopez to dish on how his 100+ days behind bars has changed him.

“It was a humbling experience,” the “Loyal” singer admitted. “It was definitely one of those things I’ll never forget. You know, for me, it’s now about…what’s the purpose, and what’s the goal for Chris Brown as a person and Chris Brown as an artist, and just trying to portray that. It’s always been positivity, but now it’s, not just speaking it into existence, but actually doing it.”

Chris was put in jail for violating his probation from the 2009 Rihanna assault case, when he assaulted a man in Washington D.C. last fall. “I just learned that nobody’s invincible,” he explained. “Everybody’s equal. At the same time, no amount of celebrity status, no amount of how many fans love you, anything, can deter you away from the real if you make a mistake. Nobody’s excusable. I think, for me, it’s just a humbling experience to be able to become a man and mature.”

Clearly, anger and aggression have been problems for the 25-year-old in the past, but Chris said he’s found a solution for controlling those feelings. “I see my therapist twice a week,” he dished.”I was first adamant about, like, ‘I don’t want to go to therapy, I’m not talking to anybody.’ But as I actually went through it and kept talking it’s actually very…therapeutic! Literally. For me it was more an opportunity for me to understand my feelings and understand what I deal with in my own life. I just feel like sometimes, at the time, I didn’t know how to put those feelings out there. I didn’t know how to say it or express myself without it being anger or aggression, because I felt a certain way. Now, it’s about me being able to control it and express it.”
