Working on The O.C. wasn’t a very positive experience for Cam Gigandet! The actor recently opened up to Elle Magazine about working on the popular teen drama, but didn’t have great things to say about his castmates Ben McKenzie and Mischa Barton.
“Actually, Ben McKenzie was kind of mean to me,” he said of the actor who played Ryan Atwood. “I hadn’t done anything at that point and he was a little bit of an ass. But I love him. I think he’s a great actor and I love Southland.”
Ryan and Cam’s character, Volchok, were rivals on the show, which began when the Season 3 bad boy moved in on Marissa Cooper (Barton), who previously dated Ryan. In fact, Cam’s main storyline surrounded his relationship with Marissa (he ultimately caused her death)…but you wouldn’t even know it!
“Mischa? I didn’t really…was she there? I dont even have memories of her,” she admitted.
But he wasn’t done there. While he didn’t have anything specific to say about other popular cast members Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson, the actor dissed the cast in general. “The things that I remember now — none of them are good,” he explained. “It was only the third or fourth season. Those kids were f—ing miserable. They were just — they would not remember their lines on purpose. They were young. That said, I don’t talk to anyone I’ve ever worked with.”
UGH, come on — who wouldn’t want to keep up a friendship with Adam Brody?!
