So much for that Beyonce-like release? It was originally reported that Mariah Carey planned to release her entire new album — cover, track-listing and the actual music — all at once, digitally, but it looks like she’s going for a more traditional approach instead.
Late Wednesday night, the singer shared the first look at her album cover, which revealed the title: Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse. In the cover photo, she dons a skin-colored, one piece swimsuit.
This will be the 44-year-old’s first album with original music since 2009. The decision to announce the news on Wednesday (April 30) held a lot of significance, considering it’s the day Mariah married Nick Cannon in 2008 and the day their twins were born in 2011.
Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse is now up for preorder and will be available on May 27.
