Back in action! After nearly a week in the hospital, Miley Cyrus will fly to Europe, as planned, on Wednesday to continue her Bangerz tour overseas. The singer called into On Air With Ryan Seacrest Monday morning and opened up about her recent illness and future plans.
“I’m doing good, I’m much better,” she confirmed. “Happy to be on the phone with you guys, happy to be getting back on the road. You have no idea.”
The 21-year-old explained that she was feeling fine while on prescribed medication for five days, but on the sixth day, things took a turn for the worst. “I was basically poisoning myself for a week with something that I didn’t know I was really scary allergic to,” she explained.
At the beginning, Miley said she even left the hospital twice to try and perform shows she eventually had to cancel. “Every two or three hours it would be okay, and then all of a sudden it would just happen to me again,” she revealed. “It was insane. But I was begging the doctors to let me out just to do the show.”
She described the experience as “miserable,” and admitted to doing a lot of online shopping during her stay. “Whatever they had me on to deal with the pain…I made some questionable choices with what I bought,” she laughed.
Unfortunately, the hospitalization forced the “Adore You” singer to reschedule two weeks worth of tour dates, which she’ll make up in August. That means, though, that plans to start working on her new single will also have to be pushed back. “This tour has been so much fun, I don’t even want to get off the road!” she said.
To conclude, Miley set the record straight regarding rumors that she was trying to “play hooky.” “There is no part of me that wants to lay in bed and not be on stage,” she explained. “That’s what I was trying to explain to everybody — there’s nothing that makes me want to be in this hospital, I want to be on this tour. So, it was a bummer.”
Luckily, the illness didn’t do anything to hurt her appetite — she admitted to eating a ton of Cracker Barrel while suck in Kansas!
