Fans rejoiced when OTown announced they’d be reuniting after ten years, but there was still a huge piece of the puzzle missing!
Via a video message on their new website, former band members Jacob Underwood, Erik-Michael Estrada, Dan Miller and Trevor Penick revealed that they’d been recording new music, and would soon head out on tour. But where was fifth band member, Ashley Parker-Angel?!
“Ashley thinks of himself as a solo artist and actor and doesn’t want to be associated with that boyband image anymore,” a friend tells Star. After the band’s breakup in 2004, the singer released a fairly successful solo album, starred on an(other) MTV reality show, and performed on Broadway.
Unfortunately, the remaining band members didn’t realize the response they’d get by doing a reunion without Ashley — and they’re desperate to get him to return. “They all know that the only way for this reunion to be lucrative is for them to tour with Ashley,” the insider adds. “But Ashley isn’t wavering in his decision and doesn’t care if he loses his longtime friends and fans in the process.”
