In his upcoming movie Palo Alto, James Franco plays a high school teacher who has a relationship with a student (Emma Roberts). This week, that fictional storyline seems to be somewhat coming to life in the actor’s reality.
17-year-old Lucy Clode met the 35-year-old after seeing his Broadway play Of Mice and Men, and uploaded a video to Instagram with him, in which he asks to be tagged. According to a screen-shotted conversation, James asked Lucy her age, relationship status and more, then tried to meet up with her at her hotel.
Although it’s possible that the screenshots are fake, the teenager asked the Spring Breakers star to send photographic proof of his identity twice, to which he obliged. The pair never ended up getting together.
James took to his own Instagram on Wednesday to address the scandal, albeit cryptically. “I HOPE PARENTS KEEP THEIR TEENS AWAY FROM ME. Thank you,” he wrote. The post was later deleted, but still appears on his Twitter page.
